Meditation In Religion

Numerous religions are known for practicing meditation. Ancient religions used it to contact
the gods, but modern religions such as Buddhism use it to seek enlightenment and reach contact
with ones inner self. In Islam meditating is believed to awaken and liberate the human mind,
permitting the persons inner personality to develop and grow. In Hinduism, meditation is a
journey to the deeper part of one's being. To enter your inner self your strength within is tapped
and is used to sustain yourself, preventing the calm center from being disturbed.No Earthly
troubles can reach the Hindu meditator who has tapped into his inner strength. In Buddhism,
meditation is a form of mental concentration that leads ultimately to enlightenment and spiritual
freedom. There's different branches of meditation in Buddhism. The purpose of insight
meditation is to realize important truths,tranquility meditation is used to still the mind and train
it to concentrate. Those are among many forms of Buddhist meditation.


Health Benefits
Meditation has countless health benefits. Research has proven that it balances the physical,
mental, and emotional states of health. More and more doctors are prescribing it to cure stress
related illnesses like anxiety, trauma, and insomnia. Some of the many benefits of meditating
includes increase of blood flow, slower heart rate, decrease in muscle tension, builds
self-confidence, lowers levels of depression, reduces emotional distress, strengthens the mind,
helps reduce heart disease, creates state of relaxation and wellbeing, helps tackle difficult issues,
and much more.
