What Data shows isn't what it Tells

Hutton and others scientist made many observations on the geological world. Scientist tried to explain how the rocks we see today were formed, and that what we see now isn't what we would have seen hundreds of years ago. Hutton's main contribution to the history of geology was to propose that very small changes happen(ed) over a very long time. There is a history in everything around us, and the things we see now have change and developed over periods of time, like the geographical world. Our observations and the data don't tell us anything, because what we see today was different yesterday and will be different in the future.
